This wonderful design is the brainchild of Nancy Brown. She came to us with a old miners cut round diamond that had a weight of 1.50 carats. The diamond was not the best quality and had chips and small fractures on the side. We took the diamond and re-cut it so the fractures would be gone. After the re-cut and re-shape, the diamond came out as a Vs2 quality diamond with a H-I color. She did lose .40 carats and the end diamond weighed in at 1.10 carats. But, the inclusions and the fractures were gone and the value of the diamond itself shot up 40%. She also had the old ring that went with it. We had to also re-do the ring to accommodate the new diamond. The shank had to be cut and the ring had to be re-shanked for the smaller diameter of the center diamond. The baguettes also had to be taken out and re-set to accommodate the new setting. The baguettes were 1.20 carats with a clarity of Vs2-Si2 and a color range of H-I. The ring was made of platinum & 18K yellow gold with a total of 8.50 grams.
